What does Ipswich Umbrella need?
It needs more people with ideas and
enthusiasm to join us:
- people with skills (fundraising, marketing, IT and tech)
- people with time (to keep the premises open and help run the place)
- people who are just interested and think Ipswich Umbrella is a good idea…

Groups and Events
For meeting like-minded people to talk about the climate and other topics, come to our climate café. It’s better to talk about the problems facing us as a community together.
The bigger the community, the more skills and the more resilience we’re likely to have.
Come in, have a hot drink and a chat, and tell us what’s on your mind. We’re a friendly lot!

On the 3rd Saturday of the month, we hold a repair hub for those with items they wish to be repaired or, indeed, skills they have to offer. Among us are some talented needleworkers and knitters, as well as a brilliant woodworker or two, but we’ve love more engineers (electrical and mechanical), jewellers, horologists, bike repairers etc.
Donations are appreciated but pay what you can when you can.

Craftivism is the art of protest, stitching, sewing, collaging and crafting banners, flags, hats and other consciousness-raising pieces of tangible, graspable art.
We use what we have so if you have any tools or materials, please feel free to bring them along. Check out the calendar to see when we are meeting (and crafting) next.

Not all games have to based around competition and aggression! How many games of Monopoly have devolved into family arguments or tedious sessions of Risk gone on long into the night?
Cooperative boardgames involve players collaborating together to solve puzzles, overcome obstacles, and tell stories.
If you’re a new or old player, come along every other Sunday to game and chat.

Many films have envisioned possible futures, ecological solutions or risks. From documentaries to fiction, from live-action to animation, at Film Club we watch and discuss films about the climate and biosphere.
Screenings are strictly free and via a small projector. We aim to screen one film a month. Watch this space.

This is where you come in!
Ipswich Umbrella is a community hub run by volunteers for the people of Ipswich. If you want to see a different group or event here and it’s related to the environment or community building, then please get in contact.
If you want to hire out our space (such as for a meeting, gathering or small private event) then that is also great! Email us at: ipswichumbrella@proton.me
